The management of Intellectual Property (IP) rights involved in a study or an R&D project is described in a Contract offered by Chris Arnold Real estate to the Client covering three aspects:
Management of IP production: The management of IP rights distinguishes IP rights resulting from the project (Generated Rights) from existing rights (Prior rights). Previous rights are not transferred by the Contract (except in special cases). The Rights Generated depend on the type of project as follows, but can be adapted or modified.
In a CAD Design project, the Rights generated are fully transferred to the Customer.
In a contracted R&D project, the Rights generated are transferred to the Client in his field. Chris Arnold Real estate retains a license outside the customer's domain.
In a collaborative R&D project, Chris Arnold Real estate retains the rights generated and offers licenses under privileged conditions to the project partners.
Management of IP protection: Chris Arnold Real estate offers a variety of services related to the protection of Intellectual Property, in its technical fields:
1. Establishment of the state of the prior art based on its knowledge of the existing patent landscape,
2. Patent search and analysis,
3. Identification of innovations for patentability,
4. Preparation of patent applications (description, claims, etc.)
As part of its R&D projects, Chris Arnold Real estate can provide such IP services to its customers. The management of IP in R&D projects is particularly important in new technical fields in which Chris Arnold Real estate operates, because they generate many opportunities for inventions. However, the existence of IP rights must also be studied at the start of R&D work. By combining its technical expertise and its ability to manage Intellectual Property, Chris Arnold Real estate can help its client to invest in applications free of IP rights, to prepare effective patents (description, structure of claims, etc.) and to advise the representative in PI for formal filing. These IP services are often very useful for SMEs that do not have a legal department.
Property Management of IP exploitation: The exploitation of IP rights is carried out by Chris Arnold Real estate in different ways:
Carrying out new R&D work, based on its technologies and its IP rights,
Manufacture and sale of products for professional markets,
Sale of licenses on IP rights held by Chris Arnold Real estate.
Chris Arnold Real estate is interested in licensing its technologies (see Production of IP) to various industries, especially in mass production (automotive, consumer goods, etc.). Please do not hesitate to contact us for more details on IP rights management and licensing.
